WARNING! Do not read this zine simply by turning the pages like a normal zine. Instead, follow the instructions at the end of each page and make your choice in the style of a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' book from one's childhood. If you reach an end go back to the start, or to your last choice, and take a new path. (Of course, seeing as there's no plot, you probably could just read cover to cover, but it won't be as fun.)

The Sticky Institute have once again journeyed into the realm of the temporal anomoly by allowing 168 hours for the production of a publication, this time based thematically on a competition revolving around geographical location and directed oscillations in atmospheric amplitude and pressure. The concept of ESTONIA was randomly directed towards the New Reality, and has subsequently been expanded upon in this humble tome.

Metazine

When is a zine not a zine? The question hovers over the art world like a giant moth circling a flame at an ever diminishing angle of 80 degrees. This zine is actually two zines sandwhiched together like jam and cheese in a futile attempt to eplic the inexplicable.

This is a split zine bringing together two heavy weights of the Australian zine underworld with the theme of 'metal' (as in heavy metal, or no metal at all).  The YOU half is issue #353 of the weekly,
anonymous, free, paper zine from Melbourne.  YOU has been produced every week since November 2001 and usually takes the form of a hand-written letter sealed with staples in a paper bag.

The Westside Angst half is issue #13 of the long running Adelaide zine Westside Angst made by Dr Ianto Ware.  Dr Ware's half of the zine is devoted entirely to Motorhead.

This zine is notable for being launched inNewcastle at midnight on the Saturday night of the This Is Not Art Festival weekend, 2008.  The zine was launched at The Obelisk as the clock struck midnight and a copy of the zine was set on fire on a sundial as a crowd of hardcore zine fans cheered while Manowar played on a walkman and Slayer played on a lap-top.

'Valuable' book and 'literature' reviews from the Winter of 2009.

Dear Reader, Winter has settled itself over my adopted suburb of Stepney. To use the parlance of our times, "I'm not a fan". I usually spend the first six weeks trying to be 'environmentally friendly' by not using the heater, then I snap and turn the damn thing on and it reeks of burning dust and that pretty much sets the scene for the whole season; that overtone of grotty desperation.

For those of you who, like myself, devolve significantly over the winter months and find yourself crumbling into a ruin of social malaise and personal conundrum I have compiled the following reading list.

On one hand. Kind of weird to be doing so many grown-up things these days, what with the full-time work and the impending nuptials and talking to actual banks about actual loans to actually buy an actual house, and the talk about babies, but the weirdest most unexpected part is how easy and natural it all is. How right it feels and how you might be nervous thinking about it before you decide to do it, but once you've decided, it just becomes another thing that you do.

I'm not as crap at this grownup thing as I would have thought, and it's nowhere near as freaky as bad young-men spoken word would have you believe. I'm a mortgagee and I'm proud to say it loud.

Word Attack is effectively a bi-annual magazine, making this the summer issue. This one is made up of 90% of reviews that Tom did on 100% of the shit he's done since last issue, I don't think he left out a single tape, LP, 7, show, wank etc. I kind of wanted to double up on some of the shit he did, but instead I decided to do a sports editorial rather than more reviews. I was tempted to put in a vegan recipe too. Only because for some reason people are still finding the space to whine about hc zines having vegan recipes in them, when I haven't seen one featured in years. The Word Attack chronicles are back by popular demand too...
