An autobiographical note revealed that he had been born in England and now lived in New York, but stated that, because of his unhappy childhood, he would never reveal his real name...

All novels have one moment in which a dog barks. It is a proven fact. So as I sit here at home, listening to dogs barking outside, I wonder what novel I might be in. A grunge novel? The house is messy enough, but there is not enough drug addiction or tortured love. Maybe a romance? It wouldn't be the chick lit kind, as me, the main character, does not have enough interest in shoes...
