Cool little comic about a girl who had mystery headaches when she was small. The story is told through cute line drawings that follow her journey to recovery. Pictures include: Throwing up from her bed; Unable to catch a ball; She and her mother facing a sea of (scary) grinning doctors offering conflicting diagnoses; Her being showered in various pills and bottles; Finally being told the real diagnosis by a gleeful-looking doctor. Comic monologues dense with allusions to history, literature, and cinema. Some of these allusions are blatant, some are cyptic. Some of the historical events are true, some are false, and some are combinations of fact and fiction. None of the stories involve superfluous depictions of sex, violence, or even attractive women. The comics are aesthetically simple, and very little regard is paid to commercial standards of what comics should look like; my handwriting is messy, my characters are simply drawn, and they don't even look particularly consistent throughout the stories. The stories are all more than usually wordy.

I found it difficult to get much work done in there and mostly just got drunk in alleys and got trapped in depressing conversations with the general public. Returning to working at home in front of the tv is THE BEST. This book is a monument to solitude, late nights, altered states, no internet and "                ".

Hello, this is Trevor from Newcastle Productions. I grew up in England, where Christmas annuals and Summer Specials were highlights of the comic reader's year. So I thought I'd make one...this annual showcases a small part of Newcastle Productions' output in 2009 and 2010. dense, heavy. Poppy and sesame seeds on crust. Fruit spotted: sultanas, raisins, possibly fig, orange, dates, apricot. Presented on a napkin on a plate with butter on side. Never burnt. Overall, satisfaction rates high-to-very-high. I find myself wanting another slice purely for the experience. Could it be better? Yes. It could be a rectangle shape instead of a square.
