Vanessa Berry writes about her 25th-or-so trip to Melbourne, wanders around Fitzroy and provides a map of her memories about the city.

"I knew almost no one at the party but the kitchen was crowded and no one could tell I was the social orphan. Even if they could, it didn't matter. Home was in another city and my life has provided me with enough awkward outsider moments for them to no longer bother me..."

This is #32 of Distort. Part one digging through #7-#13 and reprinting choice fragments of interviews/feature pieces. The best shit. Next issue is #14-#19.

I'd moved to Melbourne and like most people who move here, I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder from coming out of a shitty town where corruption was transparent in the local politics, it smelt like utter garbage most of the day and people were disgusting. The Galleon, St Kilda. "Fruit toast, 40% fruit, no added sugar" $3.50/slice

dense, heavy. Poppy and sesame seeds on crust. Fruit spotted: sultanas, raisins, possibly fig, orange, dates, apricot. Presented on a napkin on a plate with butter on side. Never burnt. Overall, satisfaction rates high-to-very-high. I find myself wanting another slice purely for the experience. Could it be better? Yes. It could be a rectangle shape instead of a square.

4 sultanas.

"All this zine was drawn-written in Melbourne from the 26th September till the 1st of October while attending Impact7 Printmaking conference. It was constructed at Sticky Melbourne. Thanks to Cougar Flashy who inspired me to finally stop putting it off and make a zine. The probably wouldn't of happened if i hadn't missed my train back to Adelaide so remember though it can be frustrating when things don't go to plan good things happen so often because of it..."
