Because the 2008 diary wasn't primarily meant to be zeen content, the blather entries are sometimes a tad more personal. If you were hoping for my scandalous and juciest of revelations circa 2008, this zeen has the greatest potential to meet your needs. This is probably my most embarrassing zeen to date, so I'm hoping, should that be your desire, you'll be a little disappointed.

I know for anyone that's keeping track this zine has taken way too long to come out and there's lots of excuses I could make to anyone who's reading this and to myself: the bands didn't write back, I was busy with work, I was away, etc...

Hello and welcome to the first volume of Stubby Buddy, a little 'zine about beer and beer-related stuff made by two little bees called Buzz and Bumble. The origins of Stubby Buddy are quite simple. Last summer, Buzz and Bumble went on a short holiday to the lovely river-port of Echuka where they took along a stack of various interesting beers that they hadn't tried yet (to be honest, there were 29 beers, two ciders, and a slab of Mercury Dry, which is the name of this volume). And because you really need to keep notes on the beers you try in order to remember them, they did.

We're starting to see some effects of the Liquor Licensing blitz. Rumours flying around the hospitality industry have mentioned a range of interesting stories. Some venues have found to be in breach of license and fined accordingly. Others have allegedly been fined for allowing staff to have a knock-off drink after closing. Small band venues are also finding that the letter of the law is harming the live music scene due to some license restrictions and related overheads if music is performed...

suck my scab is the first comic made totally* by cougar flashy, it's about/ has in it; funny cartoons, hip hop, terminal illness, letting go of time and reality COMPLETELY, feeling new and alone, mispronouncing words because it's fun, symbols that seem to have absolutely no purpose or meaning and rituals for people who don't understand reality yet. bad smells and confusing feelings turned into drawerings. AWESOME! weirder than 8-Ball or Hate (as in the comix), very confusing, non linear and as cool as the hulk or spiderman or charlie brown. charlie brown is the best though.

In the late 90s, zinemaker Kane Barwick dedicated the sixth issue of Sure to his own verbose style of journalism: 20 questions about zine culture to 20 zinemakers and comic artists. That concept has been plagerised (with Kane's blessing). In this second issue of the reinvented Sure6 interviewees include Ianto Ware, Mavis McKenzie, Simon Gray, Ivana Stab, 7U?, 150 Pages, and Erinsborough Exploits. Questions include issues of anonymity, best zine advice, and startling personal revelations.

When I was about ten or so my mother gave me a letter she had been saving for me. She wrote it after having flown from Beirut to England in one of her last weeks of pregnancy so that I could be born a British citizen like my father. The letter is her attempt to document her pregnancy and towards the end she mentions the heavy shelling around their apartment block and that while on the bus to the airport (which had to cross the Green Line) it was suddenly hijacked by the Amal milita looking to take hostages. Since she was female and had a Syrian passport she was not taken, although two men who were either British or American were not returned to the bus...
