This is a comic whereby the author took a challenge of keeping a comic diary every day. It just so happened to coincide with a very eventful two and a half months. "It was very convenient".

Damn Time is a phrase my friends mum would use when her 4 year olds would get bummed and deal with it by going nuts with crayons on butchers paper.
The title also has 4 letters in each word, I can only deal with even numbers, some people call that OCD.
Damn Time is 24 pages of drawings, collages and photos I've made and taken over 2010, and I guesse colated, its my own version of a butchers paper Damn Time. It probably comes off as antisocial and misanthropic (which is intended) but end of the day it's releasing frustration through creation, which I think is a possitive thing.

This morning my bus went by without stopping. I was at the stop just outside the main entrance to Sydney Uni on Parramatta Rd and had been waiting for about 20 minutes when two buses approached, the second tight up behind the first (in a manner that can only be described as sneaky) so I couldn't read it's number...

All novels have one moment in which a dog barks. It is a proven fact. So as I sit here at home, listening to dogs barking outside, I wonder what novel I might be in. A grunge novel? The house is messy enough, but there is not enough drug addiction or tortured love. Maybe a romance? It wouldn't be the chick lit kind, as me, the main character, does not have enough interest in shoes...

...I listened to this song at Nelson St, reclining on the couch among the op shop cushions, all different shapes and sizes, drinking coffee and smoking, feeling that yes, I was this saddest girl. Now I listen to it loudly in my living room while watering a fern with a spray bottle, my thoughts ticking over like a bike chain, all clicker clicker. I squirt the mist over the leaves of the fern and contemplate going back in time.

Vanessa Berry writes about her 25th-or-so trip to Melbourne, wanders around Fitzroy and provides a map of her memories about the city.

"I knew almost no one at the party but the kitchen was crowded and no one could tell I was the social orphan. Even if they could, it didn't matter. Home was in another city and my life has provided me with enough awkward outsider moments for them to no longer bother me..."

This is #32 of Distort. Part one digging through #7-#13 and reprinting choice fragments of interviews/feature pieces. The best shit. Next issue is #14-#19.

I'd moved to Melbourne and like most people who move here, I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder from coming out of a shitty town where corruption was transparent in the local politics, it smelt like utter garbage most of the day and people were disgusting. In Melbourne transport ran on time, there were good record stores and a hardcore scene with good bands that played in venues with actual PA systems...

This is #33 of Distort. Part two of a two part scavenging of the first few issues, this time digging through #14 - #19 and reprinting choice fragments of interviews/feature pieces. The best shit...#18. Fuck man. I deleted all the writing for this issue....and I also gave all the issues away. I didn't like this one at all, but I never considered I might want to reconsider that at some other stage of my life. Retard. If anyone has a spare of this, send it to me...

The new issue. I had a typewriter that I loaned from a friend and intended to lay out this entire issue with it. I got one page in and realised these are the kinds of ambitions I should pursue when I have more time on my hands...but it's an ambition I intend to return to as soon as the dust settles over this Summer. Since I've started Distort, a few fanzines have come along with layouts that make me feel like I'm wasting my time...
