The shop on the other side of me is starting to get on my nerves, for the last two weeks they've played the latest Christina Aguilera album non-stop, on repeat, every day. The Michelle's Patisserie Barista comp starts...it's fucking loud and I can barely hear customers less than a metre from me. The compere-chick virtually shouts into her microphone, and the P.A. is turned up pretty loud. She starts asking questions about coffee to the audience (what sort of loser actually sits down and watches this...ANSWER: Pensioners and scabs) and whenever someone gets one of the questions right they play that ridiculous song from Ferris Bueller's "Oooooooh yeah". It was really (unintentionally) hilarioius. When a girl from South Australia does her entry for the comp (making three coffee related products for the judge to taste) they started playing 'Sisters are doing it for themselves...'

Dear Australian Bird Society, My name is Luke and I am an avid bird watcher who lives in Penrith. I spend a lot of time in the Blue Mountains checking out birds and I think I have come across a finch that may be undiscovered. You will understand of course that I wish to be sure that your society is the real deal and that I can trust any further correspondence will be low-key...

Dear Tidy Files and Cabinets, I recently had the pleasure of using one of your filing cabinets and I wanted to write to you to let you know that it was the best filing cabinet I have ever seen. The design and accessibility was spot on and even now, just thinking about it, I find myself really impressed. I only got to use it for 10 or 15 minutes but let me tell you - it is an experience that will stay with me for life! Do you have any photos of your most recent cabinets that you could send me for my private collection?...

...I came across these notes last week while attempting to clean my room and saw a rather strange parallel. Perhaps I didn't consciously realise it but every Electrelane song is associated with something very specific for me - people and experiences lost, only to be recaptured through lyric and melody. Is this my form of eternal return?

Coughing Up Legomen #20
$5.00
Chris Lego
Featuring dodgy binding and a 6,500 word interview with Sydney's Seymour Butz, Coughing up Legomen is the first issue in 5 years for Chris. A mix of kinds of writing, cathartic and happy, CUL has screen printed covers and is offset printed in blue and black ink. CUL started as an angry punk queer teenage angst. Now it is a more reflective bunch of writings about love life, tribal thinking, getting your house raided by the cops, the free/squat party scene in Sydney and sharehousing. Hundreds showed up to the launch party and everyone got wasted. I sold 12 zines to 420 people. The afterparty was good tho. This zine was collated by 6 people. With love and beer. This is #20. #19 doesn't exist but I have done 5 years of life since #18, so fair's fair, huh?

A handmade life production
Dear Frodo,
We get it, we really do. But if you're going to insist on bare-feet there's no smartening you up. Period. For this re-fashioned thing to work you're just going to have to man up, embrace your inner 70's commune leader and make it work. We think the white Charle Manson style tabard made from old blankets, beaded curtains and bath mats will go down a treat. If that's a too little 'star child' however you could have a crack at this t-shirt made completely with used mop-heads. Alternatively you could test the waters by customising existing garmets like this feather duster come body shirt...
